Zero Emission Truck

Can you imagine the roads with quiet and quick trucks that don’t produce any emissions? Toyota can!  Today Toyota Motor North America, Inc. announced the “Project Portal” – a hydrogen fuel cell system designed for heavy duty truck use at the Port of Los Angeles. This is the next step in Toyota’s effort to broaden the application of zero-emission fuel cell technology.

As we know, the heavy duty vehicles make up a significant percentage of the annual emissions output at the Port of Los Angeles, so this technology has tremendous potential to become the powertrain of the future, according to the TMNA Executive Vice President Bob Carter.

3 Fuel Economy Tips

Besides choosing a car that offers best fuel economy, there are other smart ways to save money at the pump. Check it out:

#1 Drive Safely
According to FuelEconomy.gov, speeding, and stop-and-go driving waste gas and can lower your gas mileage by 33% at highway speeds and 5% around town. You’re not only saving gas by driving sensibly, but you’re also helping to keep everyone safe on the road.

#2 Check your tires
Make sure your tires are properly inflated. You can find your vehicle’s recommended tire pressure information on the driver's side doorjamb or in the glove box. Toyota recommends slightly lower pressure in hot weather and slightly higher in colder weather.

#3 Clean up
More weight requires more power and more gas. Check your trunk and backseats for things that you don’t need to keep in your car. Less unnecessary weight = fuel economy.
