Blood Donation

When it comes to blood donation, 17 percent of non-donors cite “never thought about it” as the main reason for not giving, while 15 percent say they’re too busy. While we are too busy to donate, every 2 seconds someone needs blood.

On Valentine's Day Larry H Miller Toyota Albuquerque employees did their part to help the local community along with our friends at United Blood Services.

• Donating blood one time (1 Pint) can save 3 lives
• More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the U.S. and Canada
• 43,000 pints: amount of donated blood used each day in the U.S. and Canada
• Much of today’s medical care depends on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors
• Blood centers often run short of types O and B red blood cells
• The #1 reason blood donors say they give is because they “want to help others”
• If all blood donors gave three times a year, blood shortages would be a rare event (The current average is about two.)
• There is no substitute for human blood

Top 3 Things to Check Before a Road Trip

The holidays are the busiest time for travel and taking care of your vehicle should be a top priority to make sure you and your loved ones get to your destination safely. We have put together a check list for you to get that road trip off to a good start.

1. Basic Car Checkup. Call you local Toyota dealer and schedule an appointment to have a check up done on your vehicle. Be sure wipers and fluids are checked. Have an oil change if needed. Keeping these basics checked will help your vehicle's reliability.

2. Check your tires. Before you put the rubber to the road, check those tires to make sure they are in tip top shape. Inspect the thread to be sure there is enough left on the tire for long periods of travel. See any tears or bulging? Get them changed out at your local dealership. Make sure the air pressure is set to your owner's manual suggestion.

3. Emergency Check! Whether you are traveling through cities or on a desolate road, be sure to always plan ahead for any issues that may arise. Some items to make sure are in your vehicle are: water, blankets, jumper cables, flares, snacks, and a flashlight.

Toys For Tots - Albuquerque

Every November we are proud to take part in Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots is an organization that depends on places like Larry H Miller Toyota Albuquerque to receive gifts so they can deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children.

“The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.”
